St Teresa’s swimmer impresses judges at the Central Gauteng Aquatics Short Course Championships

St Teresa’s School’s swimmer Tyra Penn took home a bunch if medals from the CGA Short Course Championships, including an impressive triple gold in the 50m, 100m, and 200m breaststroke.

St Teresa’s High School learner Tyra Penn has made waves once again. This time at the Central Gauteng Aquatics (CGA) Short Course Championships at Reddam House,

Helderfontein in Midrand, from August 15–17, delivering a commendable performance in the pool.

The event, organised by CGA, featured competitive senior swimmers from several provinces.

Tyra dominated the breaststroke events, taking home an impressive triple gold in the 50m, 100m, and 200m races. She added to her medal tally with a silver in the 100m individual medley and a bronze in the 200m individual medley, showcasing her versatility and determination.

“We are incredibly proud of Tyra’s achievements,” said Tessa Shellard, St Teresa’s School director of sport. “Her commitment, talent, and perseverance are a true inspiration to her peers and the wider school community.”

Shellard added that with every competition, Tyra continues to raise the bar, showcasing both excellence and true Rosie character and values.
