Parktown High School for Girls cross country athlete shone at the Central Gauteng Championships
Parktown High School for Girls cross country athlete placed top 10 in Gauteng at the Central Gauteng Championships.
Parktown High School for Girls cross country athlete, Enreth Daniel recently shone at the recent Central Gauteng Championships after placing in the Top 10 in Gauteng.
Enreth explained that she was always grateful to be able to participate in such prestigious races.
“As usual, it was a good day with perfect running weather. I came 9th in the U16 and U17 category and I qualified to participate in the South African Cross-Country Championships, which will take place this month in Mpumalanga.”

The athlete added that her most notable accolades include earning her provincial colours for cross country and, more recently, achieving full colours in cross country at school.
Enreth explained that she began the sport when she was 9 years old, “I usually have training 4-5 times a week at school and 3-4 times a week outside school hours.”
The Grade 11 athlete concluded that she wanted to continue doing cross country as a sport even after high school, even if she didn’t run competitively.
“Running is the one activity where I can truly see how strong my body is, as well as develop the ability to train my mind to remain positive in all situations, mainly thanks to running.”
