Spring run unites Parkview community in joy and fitness

Over 300 runners turned the Parkview Golf Course into a festival of fitness and community spirit.

Parkview’s second annual Spring Run turned the usually quiet fairways of the Parkview Golf Course into a lively festival of fitness, friendship and fun on Sunday, September 14.

A total of 333 runners laced up under the late-afternoon spring sun, winding their way through a 5km route that was as much about community spirit as it was about speed. Families jogged side by side, little ones darted ahead with laughter, and older residents paced themselves with smiles, proving that running has no age limit.

The Parktown Girls High School volunteers, along with members of the Parkview Residents Association, lined the course with cheers and encouragement, adding to the warm and celebratory atmosphere.

While the event was less about competition and more about participation, the first male and female runners crossed the finish line in an impressive 24:54 minutes, a time that drew hearty applause from the crowd.
