St Martin’s Church ushers in 2026 as a year of renewal and hope in Rosebank

From revitalising youth ministries to expanding support for the homeless, St Martin's Rosebank Church looks to 2026 with hope, purpose, and renewed commitment to serving its neighbourhood.

As 2025 comes to an end, St Martin’s Church in Rosebank reflects on a year of renewal, community connection, and purpose.

With over a century of history, the congregation has experienced fresh energy and a commitment to serve its neighbours compassionately. This year, St Martin’s has embraced its guiding invitation, to connect with God, one another, and the world, bringing these values to life in inspiring ways.

One of the church’s notable achievements is the revitalisation of its youth ministry. After months of planning, the youth group has flourished, bringing joy and creativity to parish life through events like fashion shows and fundraisers.

Additionally, the long-standing soup kitchen has gained new life, expanding its outreach and fostering community support.

Thanks to TransUnion’s generous contribution, the parish kitchen received much-needed upgrades, and there are hopes to welcome healthcare professionals to support the onsite clinic.

In October, St Martin’s hosted a health and wellness day for the homeless, partnering with the Randburg Clinic to provide vital services, including screenings and vaccinations. This event highlighted the impact of kindness and the importance of accessible care.

Looking towards 2026, inspired by the Apostle Paul’s prayer for wisdom, St Martin’s plans to enhance its mission with health and wellness days, candlelight concerts, clothing drives, and counselling services, encouraging congregants and neighbours to engage through worship, volunteering, and reflection.

As the New Year approaches, the leadership expresses gratitude to the community, and reaffirms its commitment to serve Rosebank with faith and empathy.
