Parktown High School for Girls learners pack essential meals for hunger relief efforts

With laughter energy and teamwork girls from all grades at Parktown High School united to pack thousands of meals.

Parktown High School for Girls learners united to participate in a Rise Against Hunger packaging event on February 27.

Narisha Govender, head of community service, noted: “With enthusiasm radiating throughout the hall, learners from different grades joined forces, eagerly working side by side to pack meals for those in need.

The atmosphere was charged with energy as laughter and teamwork filled the space, proving that when individuals unite for a common purpose, remarkable outcomes can be achieved.”

Govender added that the highlight of the afternoon was the impressive achievement of packing 21 798 meals.

“This monumental effort is significant, as it translates to enough food to sustain 94 children with five meals a week for an entire year.

Such a contribution is not merely numbers; it represents hope and relief for families facing food insecurity.”

The school looks forward to continuing its support towards Rise Against Hunger, and furthering its mission to eradicate hunger… One meal at a time.
