Arrest made in Saxonwold attorney murder months after fatal shooting
A 33-year-old man has appeared in court following months of investigation into the killing of a Johannesburg attorney at his office.
Nearly eight months after a Johannesburg attorney was gunned down in his office, police have made a breakthrough with the arrest of a suspect linked to the killing.
A 33-year-old man was taken into custody on April 29 in connection with the murder of the 43-year-old attorney who was shot dead at his practice in Saxonwold on September 5, 2025.

The arrest follows what authorities have described as intensive investigations by the Gauteng Provincial Investigating Unit.
The suspect made his first appearance in the Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court on May 4.
The matter was postponed to May 11 to allow for a formal bail application. He remains in custody.
The fatal incident sent shockwaves through the legal community last year. According to police, the attorney was at work when four men arrived at his offices posing as clients who had scheduled an appointment.

Two of the men entered the premises while the others remained outside.
Moments later, gunshots rang out from the boardroom. The suspects fled the scene immediately afterwards, leaving the attorney fatally wounded.
Emergency responders declared him dead at the scene.
At the time, the motive for the attack was unclear, and it remains under investigation. Police have not yet confirmed whether additional suspects are being pursued, though earlier reports indicated that multiple individuals were involved in the killing.
The arrest marks a significant step in a case that has lingered for months, offering a measure of progress for a community still grappling with the nature of the crime.
Authorities have urged anyone with further information to come forward as investigations continue.
