Police arrest Robert Mugabe’s son in connection with Hyde Park shooting

Chatunga Bellarmine Mugabe, son of former Zimbabwean president Robert Mugabe, has been arrested in Hyde Park, following an altercation that escalated into gunfire, leaving a gardener wounded.

An arrest has been made in connection with the Hyde Park shooting that left a 23-year-old gardener wounded.

Police have confirmed that Chatunga Bellarmine Mugabe, the youngest son of former Zimbabwean president Robert Mugabe, was arrested in Hyde Park, Johannesburg, on February 19.

The arrest follows a heated altercation that escalated into gunfire, during which the gardener was shot and injured. The victim was rushed to hospital for urgent medical treatment. His condition has not yet been confirmed.
