Women’s Month networking event prompts self-care and connection
Women from across Johannesburg gathered at Hirsch’s Hyde Park for a Women’s Month networking event that combined conversations on skincare and wellness with opportunities to connect and empower one another.
Women from different walks of life came together at Hirsch’s Hyde Park on August 5 for a Women’s Month networking event where they focused on building profound connections, wellness and skincare.
The event involved skincare tips from Lamelle Research Laboratories and guest appearances by Mrs South Africa First Princess Talitha Oosthuizen. This created a space where women got to know other women while learning how they can further take care of themselves.

Mrs South Africa 2026 finalist Angelique Janse van Rensburg said the networking events are regularly hosted by Hirsch’s; however, this month’s edition is placing importance on uplifting women while contributing to Women’s Month.
She added that the Women’s Month programme would continue with more talks throughout August, including one she will host on dressing with intention.
Hirsch’s Michelle Paine said the company often hosts networking events across its different branches, bringing people together to empower each other about business opportunities.
“At Hirsch’s we’re always doing networking, and we’re always doing things that empower people, small businesses and big businesses, bringing people together,” she said.

In addition to Lamelle’s skincare range, the event also encouraged attendees to show up with samples of their products to share with each other. This helped women better understand what their skin needs while promoting financial independence.
Lizzy Mabena, an attendee at the event, said that the morning was an opportunity to celebrate womanhood while ensuring that she invests in her personal well-being.
“I am here today to celebrate being a woman, being Women’s Month, and to learn everything there is to learn about beauty, skincare and looking after yourself,” she said.
The event also motivated women to make a lasting impact in their communities through a Women’s Month initiative that supports learners who are preparing for their matric dance.
