Johannesburg Flying Squad arrests 2 suspects in Orange Grove and Waverley operations
Police officers have taken two men into custody following separate incidents involving illegal drugs and damage to municipal property in Johannesburg.
Two suspects, aged between 30 and 50, are expected to appear in court soon following separate arrests by the Johannesburg Flying Squad in Orange Grove and Waverley.
According to Gauteng police, Flying Squad members were patrolling along 6th Street and Louis Botha Avenue in Orange Grove at about 12:30 on October 5 when they stopped and searched a man.
The search allegedly uncovered a ziplock bag containing crystal meth with an estimated street value of R300. The suspect was arrested for possession of drugs and detained at Norwood Police Station for further investigation.

A few hours later, Flying Squad members were called to a separate incident in Waverley following a complaint of malicious damage to property and intimidation.
Police said officers were informed on arrival that a suspect had allegedly thrown a brick at a City Power vehicle before locking himself inside his home. Officers used necessary force to gain entry to the property and arrested the suspect.
He was detained at Norwood Police Station and faces charges of malicious damage to property and intimidation.
