CELEBRATING 95 YEARS OF EXCELLENCE

Founded in 1923, Parktown High School for Girls’ educational philosophy is holistic with a special ambience, a healthy balance of tradition and discipline and a progressive approach to education.

Over the last 95 years, they have provided thousands of young women with a chance to express themselves in academics, sport and cultural and community service activities and they encourage learners to:

‘reach for the stars’.

Today the school has around 1 100 girls enrolled.

Although a public school, it provides a world-class education to learners from diverse backgrounds, which is invaluable for producing leaders of tomorrow.

The school has incredibly high expectations of all their learners through the philosophy that everyone can achieve. It places emphasis on quality passes, which sets the bar very high for everyone, which includes learners, parents, teachers and the whole community, who works very hard to obtain their goal of 100 percent bachelor’s degree passes.

Their matric results have been consistently excellent and their learners do extremely well in tertiary education as well as in their chosen careers.

The school prides itself on producing young women of exceptional quality who are willing and able to take up positions, including leadership positions within the community.

With a qualified, committed teaching and support staff, the school team works together to achieve excellence. The school would like to express their gratitude to the community and parents for their role in the school’s enormous continued success and support over the years.

Headmistress Tracey Megom said, “I would also like to thank all our current and previous learners, staff, headmistresses and school governing bodies for the legacy and continued commitment to excellence.”
