ILLOVO – Two of South Africa’s most well-known figures of stage and screen joined forces to present a limited-run supper cabaret at Beefcakes restaurant.
Actor, singer and ‘Yebo Gogo’ man Michael de Pinna and award-winning musical virtuoso Johan Laas brought camp fun to the restaurant’s stage in Feeling Good.
Directed by Maralin Vanrenen, the show delighted audiences with show tunes, hits from some of the great modern crooners, 70s pop and rock, a Rocky Horror Show medley, and some saucy jokes.
The audience’s enjoyment escalated with De Pinna’s good-natured banter, colourful costume changes, and various characters, all accompanied by Laas’ musical magic.
Not content to be the only ones shaking their groove things, De Pinna and Laas encouraged the audience to join in the fun, and soon everybody was doing the Time Warp again.
The final show of Feeling Good will take place on 3 November at Beefcakes restaurant, 198 Oxford Road, Illovo, at 7pm.
