Top spot for Kes student

Verushen Coopoo was King Edward VII School's 2013 top matric achiever.

Coopoo achieved 9 distinctions in English home language, Afrikaans first additional language, mathematics, life orientation, information technology, life sciences, physical sciences, mathematics paper 3 and advanced programme mathematics.

He went on to achieve awards at the 2013 valediction for being the Dux Scholae (highest aggregate in Grade 12); received an academic gold medal (which is awarded to pupils who have received medals in Grades 8, 9 and 10), was awarded academic colours in Grade 11 and was able to maintain the standard in Grade 12; and he won the English Editor’s Prize.

Coopoo intends on doing a degree at Wits University in biomedical engineering.
