Butter the bread, spread the love

JOBURG - Who doesn't enjoy a peanut butter sandwich? Well, the #SecondChances Foundation, through its Spread the Bread drive, donated more than 600 peanut butter sandwiches to the Thuthzela Community Aid Home in Alexandra.

On 23 August, at Park Crescent in Glenhazel, volunteers of the Spread the Bread drive spread their blankets down on the grass and made sandwiches, buttering as many slices of bread as they could to donate to the home. This was the first of many monthly fundraisers hosted by Spread the Bread.

Guest speaker for the drive, Miss Earth 2015 finalist, Jade Axon, spoke about the importance of looking after the earth, ourselves and each other.

The #SecondChances Foundation also gave a big thanks to Angel Shereen Markowitz, co-organiser of the Spread the Bread drive.

The next fundraiser will be held on 20 September.
