APPLAUSE: MC of the event, Minnie Dlamini, after a successful bid at the #1team1nation charity auction.
The event gave guests the opportunity to bid for six unique digitised paintings which represented iconic Springbok moments in rugby history.
The guests were also given the opportunity to actively send messages of support to the Springboks rugby team during the 2015 Rugby World Cup. The messages were sent through to the #1team1nation campaign website to help raise funds for two worthy causes.
The funds from the auctioned paintings were used to support the Vaseline Wanderers Rugby Development Project, which fosters talent from Alexandra; the South African Rugby Union’s CSI project; and Boks for Books, a literacy programme which supplies fully-stocked mobile or refurbished libraries to disadvantaged schools.
The MC of the charity auction event was led by SABC’s Rugby World Cup brand ambassador Minnie Dlamini and celebrity auctioneer, Joey Burke.
