Eskom announced that South Africa will be experiencing Stage 2 load shedding due to high demand and maintenance being performed at certain power stations.
LEAH MORRISON: The economy is being affected in a bad way by load shedding because it is an ongoing thing. Workplaces and businesses are getting shut down on a daily basis due to load shedding which results in people losing their jobs.
This means major changes in how we live our day-to-day lives as we use electricity for almost everything.

TANYA SANDERSON: It affects the economy very negatively because even now at our workplace for instance if load shedding hits we have to shut everything down as we are unable to work. That affects the company’s productivity as a whole.WALDO ADDINALL: I think the economy and Eskom itself can be saved the moment when the money-hungry ministers can actually cut down on their own budgets, benefits and expenditures.LUCKY MAPONYA: I think it is affecting it negatively because people cannot do their work when nothing is working, people cannot do their jobs.
