The bursary programme which started in 1996 focuses on assisting a small number of students with their tuition, accommodation, stationeries and books, and also provides them with a personal allowance during the course of their studies. Ramaphosa shared the special moment with the students on July 7 as they were each given their awards.

“The aim of the Trust is to be a vehicle for grooming young people for the task of positively impacting South Africa and changing it into a country that will reach the highest heights of development,” said Ramaphosa.

Thamsanqa Gazide was given the overall top achiever award for his pursuit of an international relations degree.
