Four arrests for unlicensed firearms

Police officials of the Bramley Police Station successfully apprehended four suspects with the possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition on January 6.

Bramley police officials arrested four individuals caught in the possession of unlicensed firearms on January 6.

Officials who were on duty received reports of suspicious behaviour of individuals in a white Mercedes-Benz vehicle driving near the precinct. The driver of the white car was stopped and officers began conducting a body and vehicle search for anything suspicious.

They found two unlicensed firearms, ammunition and a gas pistol. According to the spokesperson of the station, Captain Molefe Mogodi, the suspects were due to appear in court soon.

“Bramley police officers performing day-to-day and tracing operations succeeded in arresting suspects during the weekend. They will be facing charges ranging from sexual assaults, possession of suspected stolen motor vehicles, shoplifting, assault common, drunk driving and reckless driving,” said Mogodi.

The captain urged community members to provide them with crime-related information by contacting police officials on 10111 or by contacting the sector cellphone number.
