Update on the muddy hole at Rivonia Primary School
A reinstatement left unattended by JW has been repaired after causing a total disruption to the school’s drop-off zone for months.
Parents and staff at Rivonia Primary School thanked the Sandton Chronicle for drawing attention to a muddy hole that needed attention from Johannesburg Water (JW).
The hole was situated at the drop-off zone of the school and was reported in an article published on May 26.
According to the administrator at the school Shayne Griffin, two workers of the water utility had repaired the driveway in front of the school.

“Thank you so much to the Chronicle, the tar has been repaired,” she said. “Even though it has taken the JW months to come and fix, our parents are happy that the traffic flow through the drive-through is no longer interrupted, and a danger to parents and children on the road has been fixed.”
She added she was now worried about the pile of tar left which had not been taken away after the repairs.
A traffic volunteer parent, Sue Kearn said, “The repairs done at the school have made life much easier for all using the drive-through. Parents no longer need to fear damaging their cars, nor do we need to argue with parents who refuse to drive over it and who would block the traffic coming into the drop-off zone.”
A parent, Lisa-Michelle Small said, “Making drop-offs and pick-ups has been made just that much easier. I am sure it has improved traffic flow on the Boulevard in the mornings as well.”
