Crawford International Sandton U15 football team shows promise despite narrow defeat at the hands of Eden College
Despite a tough result, Crawford International Sandton’s U15 team displayed resilience and skill at their recent soccer game.
The U15 football team of Crawford International Sandton faced Eden College on May 7 in a highly anticipated match that displayed both promise and frustration.
Although the final score did not reflect their efforts, the Crawford team showed significant skill, particularly in the second half.

Crawford’s game plan was clear from the start: To maintain possession and control the flow of the match.
Coach Siphelele Mtshali said his team executed this strategy in the latter stages of the game. “We were able to control the tempo of the game in the second half, which allowed us to create some really good opportunities.”

He added that MJ Kifiya, the team’s standout player, played a pivotal role in the game, not just in controlling the tempo of play but also in scoring the lone goal for Crawford. “MJ did an excellent job, dictating the pace of the game. His goal came at a crucial moment for us.”
Mtshali pointed out that another key contributor was Ethan Blumberg, whose speed and relentless effort on the field were noted by both his teammates and coach.
“Ethan was exceptional. His work rate was phenomenal, and his aggressive play really disrupted the opposition,”

He concluded by stating that despite the positive aspects, the team struggled in front of the goal, unable to capitalise on several chances. “We had more opportunities in the second half, but we just couldn’t find the target. It’s disappointing, but I believe this team will only grow stronger as the season progresses.”
