14-hour loadshedding is fake news, says Eskom

Eskom reassures the public that its power systems remain stable and there are no plans for extended outages.

Eskom has denied allegations that it plans to implement 14-hour loadshedding in June.

The power supplier took to their various social media pages to decry the allegation of extended loadshedding planned for June. This comes after social media and online forums were flooded with alarming claims of a looming 14-hour power outage across the country.

“The power system is stable, and loadshedding has remained suspended since 22:00 on May 15. There are no planned outages of this scale,“ said the power supplier on their Facebook page.

The utility warned that misinformation can lead to unnecessary panic, urging its customers to solely rely on verified Eskom channels for news and updates.
