Better Bryanston, a registered non-profit company (NPC) dedicated to keeping the suburb tidy, rolled up its sleeves on August 22 to clean the island intersection where Winnie Mandela Drive veers into Main Road.

The initiative is part of the group’s ongoing efforts to improve the suburb’s streetscape. Their work has largely focused on Main Road, between Winnie Mandela Drive and Peter Place, where litter and overgrown vegetation often build up.

Joyce Tshabalala, chairperson of Better Bryanston, said, “We are all volunteers trying to make a difference. Every clean-up we do reminds us how much can be achieved when residents come together with a shared purpose. But we can’t do it alone, we need as much support as possible from the community to keep Bryanston looking good.”
