Michael Mount Waldorf School honours outgoing representative council of learners and welcomes new representatives
As the 2025/26 representative council of learners members prepare to write their prelims and final, they have past the torch to a new set of Grade 11 members, set to carry the last generations contributions into the future.
At a recent high school assembly, Michael Mount Waldorf School honoured its representative council of learners (RCL) members who filled these leadership roles for 2025/26.
The 2025/26 representatives are Mia Topp, Riley Pearman, Amaya Fang Da Fonseca, Ciara Grubb and Luca Amerseder. Together, they have contributed to reimagining the school dress code, responding to learners’ needs, promoting school spirit at sporting events and representing the school with pride.

They have also implemented a second-hand textbook sale within the school, establishing the groundwork for years to come. In addition, they have arranged a community blood drive for the school and the Bryanston Market and aim to make it an annual event on the school calendar.
As these learners prepare to write their prelims and, later this year, their final examinations, they are passing the baton to the Grade 11 representatives, these include Ananda Xorile, Hannah Ramsden, Andzile Mcanyana, Onalenna Moruti and Zukhanye Mdlulwa.
Their intentions for the year include supporting an environment where learners can become well-rounded individuals who respect themselves, their peers and their teachers, guided by the school’s commitment to nurture conscious individuals through dynamic education.

A school representative added that they are guided by the belief that a strong school community is built on respect, empathy, support, participation, excellence, collaboration and trust, with a goal to leave a lasting mark of positivity, unity and respect.
The RCL at Michael Mount was established with the intention to nourish the unique capacities of every learner, so that, in each, the critical and creative intelligence to envision the future, the compassion and commitment to understand others, and the courage to be a free and active participants in the common human experience may awaken.
As such, the assembly was a time to acknowledge the successes and achievements of the matric learners, and welcome the Grade 11s to whom the torch has been past.
