Crawford College Sandton The Principal
Message From The Principal
What are our dreams and what actions do we take for these to become a reality?
Yet another year has passed, and our Matric results were outstanding. As I said to the staff in the first staff briefing, it takes a village to raise a child! A student might have started in pre-prep or in Grade 8 or even later in his/her school career at Crawford. The fact is that he/she evolved as a whole and decent person who is ready to take on the world because of numerous influences from teachers, coaches, peers, fellow students and parents.
Looking at the Matric group, the Exec and the SRC during a recent Induction assembly, I could see the pride that they were exuberating and the realisation of ‘this is it, we have made it to Matric’! We are utilising our teachers to the maximum and doing our best to give our students the best possible chance to develop his/her talents and reach his/her potential. We always reflect on outcomes and never become complacent. Our aim is to become better every year, to provide more opportunities and to retain our fantastic staff body.
We would like to explore ways to enhance the sport at Crawford as well as technology and music, this year. I believe that a healthy body houses a healthy mind and we therefore need to promote sport. We intend to investigate possible tours and events to promote sport at our school. We are also looking forward to new initiatives such as robotics. We have already invested significantly in the latter. We would like to improve our music facilities as well as offer more exposure to high end orchestras and famous musicians.
We appreciate your continued support and hope to see you whenever the College offers a community event. We wish all students and staff well for 2019 and hope that we can look back at the end of the year at a successful, happy and prosperous year where everyone could make memories to last for generations to come.
