Ticket giveaway Rise and Shine Festival
SANDTON - Sandton's favourite eco-friendly music festival, the Nokia Rise & Shine Festival, returns to Sandton Central Park on 29 March.
Audiences can anticipate some of South Africa’s most diverse and loved artists, such as one-man modern folk band Jeremy Loops, singer-songwriter Yoav, blues and rock n’ roll band Shadowclub, and the sound of indie kwela pop band Desmond and the Tutus.
There will also be performances by songwriter Bongeziwe Mabandla, reggae gurus Tidal Waves, Romanian singer Andra, and singer-songwriters Michael Lowman and Dave Baudains.
Gates open bright and early at 8am. There will be a light yoga session on the lawn at 9am, before a full day of music, food, nature and friends.
Different types of cuisine will be provided by a number of high-end vendors sourced from the top food and design markets in Johannesburg.
Nokia Rise & Shine, in association with Johannesburg City Parks, plant one tree for every 50 people who attend. The event raised 136 trees last year and helped to create a green footprint in South Africa.
Sandton Central Park is on the corner of Grayston and Sandton Drive. The entrance to the park is on Fifth Street. Parking is available at Sandton City for a flat fee of R10 or there is a tuk-tuk service from Sandton’s Gautrain Station to the park. Nokia Rise & Shine is a family-friendly festival and welcomes the community to come enjoy a day outside.
