This is after the recent launch of the Public Access to Internet Project.
Riverpark Library’s senior librarian, Melanie Burgin said the project enables residents to access information for free through the internet using wireless technology at selected pilot libraries.
“Region E residents can access the services at Riverpark and Sandton libraries where they can also get other services for their assignments and drafting of CVs onto memory sticks for printing at the library or elsewhere,” she said.
Burgin said 30 computers have been installed at the Riverpark Library for this purpose. Also, she stated that the system will be extended to the Rea Vaya routes to improve communications for commuters in transit. Other pilot sites are the Diepkloof, Diepsloot and Jabavu libraries.
