It’s all things business at the Residential Entrepreneurs Talk

SANDTON – The Residential Entrepreneurs Talk aimed to motivate woman in business.

The Residential Entrepreneurs talk was held at Starbucks, The Marc on 27 March and the topic discussed on the evening was: Empowering women in business.

The aim of the Residential Entrepreneur is to inspire and empower African entrepreneurs by bridging the gap in allowing for a platform to spark conversation and to hopefully create collaborations within neighbouring entrepreneurs who share the same space on a day-day basis.

Manqoba Nhlapo, managing director of Paste Studios and founder of Residential Entrepreneurs Talk said he wanted attendees to leave with something tangible to implement in their businesses. “Since it’s still international Women’s Month, we thought it would be great to inspire women entrepreneurs so that they can flourish in their respective businesses,” he said.

The affair was mediated by actress and TV presenter, Candice Modiselle, with four panellists namely Miss South Africa 2010 and founder of Bokang Legacy, Bokang Montjane-Tshabalala, managing director of Mama ka Shaka, Nandi Dlepu, head of marketing and communications at Gauteng Tourism, Anele Mdzikwa and founder of Rutega Learning Hub, Lerato Mdluli.

“We live in an era where women are capable of doing anything and everything that they put their minds on. So, I can’t see how a woman cannot be successful and juggle her private life in this day and age,” said Mdzikwa.

A variety of factors were discussed including resources to start up a business. “I always advise entrepreneurs to try and save costs all the time,” said Mdluli. “If you can do it yourself, do not pay someone to do it for you.”

The inspiring female conversation left a lot of entrepreneurs who attended in an overwhelmed state as they received a ‘free mentorship’ session. “It is so inspiring to see women succeeding, I have gained so much and I am ready to implement the things I learnt in my business,” said entrepreneur, Noluthando Nkosi. Another inspired attendee was Onesimo Gum, “I am glad I came to this talk. These amazing women have said a mouthful and I will be sure to process every said detail.”
