Get into the top international universities

SANDTON – Jamie Beaton from Crimson Education is on a mission to get South African students into overseas universities.

Education in South Africa is a constant topic of discussion and rightly so. Doing well and getting the best results comes with much dedication and motivation and that is where Crimson Education comes in.

At a talk in Sandton on 3 March, CEO and co-founder Jamie Beaton visited South Africa to discuss how young South Africans can plan for a bright future on a global stage. At just 25 years old, he has already graduated from Harvard University – magna cum laude – in 2016 with a double degree in applied mathematics and economics. He also has an MBA in Computer Science and Education Technology where he was one of the youngest students to be accepted into Stanford’s Graduate School of Business at just 20 years old.

Hoping to spread his wisdom across the country, Beaton has quite a personal connection with South Africa. “My co-founder Sharndre Kushor is actually from South Africa. I want to bridge the gap between local and international aspects.

“Basically, in South Africa, most of the schools are quite familiar with the South African university requirements but not the international university requirements such as community impact, extra-mural activities, academics, leadership.

“When you hire Crimson we help you go ahead and get the necessary SAT tutoring, college admission training and much more. That is why we are here to bridge the gap between local and international.”

One of their focuses in the country right now is a partnership they have forged with the Reddam schools in South Africa. Serving kids from a much younger age, Crimson Education has also launched a new online high school.

“Kids can take A-Level subjects online through us which is a very exciting development, The idea behind this is to connect students to relevant mentors to make dreams come possible.”
