Suspect arrested in Marlboro
MARLBORO – The 18-year-old suspect was arrested and is expected to appear in court soon.
A suspect was arrested in Marlboro on August 25 for the sale of suspected stolen goods.
According to Bramley Police Station spokesperson Captain Molefe Mogodi, police officers were called to the Marlboro informal settlement where a complainant alleged that the suspect in question was in possession of goods that were stolen from the complainant’s house.
“According to the report, the complainant left his house in the early hours of the morning on August 24 and came back in the afternoon on the same day.”
The complainant claimed that he found his house broken into and that some of his clothing was stolen.
Mogodi added that the complainant saw the suspect selling clothing on the street the next day. “When he [the complainant] checked further, he managed to identify the clothes which the suspect was selling as those stolen from his house during the break-in.”
The 18-year-old suspect was arrested and is expected to appear in court soon.
Further arrests were made by Bramley police during day-to-day operations, which include tracing operations by detectives.
“The suspects were arrested for offences related to Disaster Management Act, shoplifting, possession of a stolen motorbike, selling liquor without a licence, assault, theft, drunk and driving, fraud, and sexual offences, and using a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent,” said Mogodi.
