Montrose Golf Day drives fundraising for school projects
Parents, teachers and business partners joined 80 golfers at Wanderers Golf Club for the school’s annual fundraising event.
Montrose Primary School’s annual golf day continues to provide an opportunity for parents, staff and business partners to support the school’s fundraising efforts while strengthening community relationships.
Held at Wanderers Golf Club, the event attracted 80 golfers, including eight Montrose teachers and four learners.
Parents and partners also attended, making the day an opportunity to connect beyond the classroom.

John Francis, a parent and member of the school governing body, said he had been organising the event for four years alongside marketing manager Mokhosi Makara, other parents and staff members.
“We are very pleased to have all our parents today coming and being part of this beautiful event,” said Francis.
He added the event had two primary objectives: raising funds for school projects and maintaining relationships with sponsors. He said that the golf day allowed the school to connect with parents and give back to sponsors.

Learner Julian Leaf-Wright said he was excited to be at Wanderers Golf Club. “It is going to be such a joy playing out here today with all my mates. I got a four-ball going, and I have been playing golf for almost a year now.
I am playing off a 15.2 handicap, and I am super excited for today.”
