Springtime at the Field and Study
PARKMORE – Park goers can enjoy the calming sounds of the park with a picnic or a walk.
Spring has sprung at the Field and Study Park and all are welcome.
The Friend of the Field and Study, the organisation that manages the park in Parkmore, would like to encourage residents to take advantage of the warm weather and enjoy Sandton’s best-kept secret.
According to the organisation’s Rose Johnson, the park is the perfect place to witness the blossoming of the season.
“The fruit trees, from the original farm orchard, burst into bloom [and] a few weeks before this we had another bush with just a few pink flowers. This is the signal that spring is on the way,” she said.
Parkgoers can enjoy the calming sounds of the park with a picnic or a walk. The newly refurbished jungle gym and dinosaur are also ready and waiting for the children.
Johnson added that many parkgoers do not realise the work that goes into maintaining the park and Friend of the Field and Study does just that to ensure that the space remains open and well kept.
“This precious open space, so close to the Sandton CBD, needs our protection.”
