The benefits of cycling for children are immeasurable, from exercising the cardiovascular muscles, to strengthening their emotional wellness and even enhancing their social skills.

With this in mind, school head Lynne van Dellen partnered with Cycle Lab and Planet Fitness to bring World Bike Day to the school campus.

The learners enjoyed learning about the benefits of cycling all while participating in various activities and riding on various loan bicycles provided by Cycle Labs.

Planet Fitness provided water bottles and stationary bikes, ensuring that all of the children were included.

“Safety was top priority on the day – no helmet, no ride rules applied to everyone, including our visiting South African Triathlete, Elize Niewenhuizen, who competed in each of the various grade fun rides,” said the school’s marketing liaison Geordie Nicholls.
