IIE Varsity College continues to help communities

Principal of Diepsloot Primary School rejoices after IIE Varsity College Sandton campus revamps school kitchen through their initiative, Khumo Project.

With their Khumo Project initiative, the IIE Varsity College Sandton campus were able to share some of their joy with the representatives of Diepsloot Primary School.

The campaign which focuses on community upliftment recently visited its partner, Diepsloot Primary School on November 30. During their visit, representatives of Varsity College donated wheelie bins, stationary, kitchen items including cooking utensils and 1800 snack packs for the learners.

The college further revealed the school’s newly revamped kitchen during a ribbon cutting ceremony on the day. According to the communication director of Varsity College Sandton campus, Anto Kagisho, the institution has been working on improving the kitchen since August.

“I am proud to have been able to witness the dedication and contribution that the IIE Varsity College has been making to our school. We have now concluded the building for our kitchen storage, where we store numerous ingredients to ensure that we supply warm meals to our learners. Being able to provide a cooked meal for our learners is something really to my heart,” said the principal of Diepsloot Primary School, Joe Makhafola.

The principal concluded by saying that he looks forward to many amazing projects that the Khumo partnership has in store for them.
