Lovers of love share their time with McDonald’s
Participants of the McDonald's Valentine initiative share their highlights and feedback on their dates at McDonald's Sandton Gate on February 14.
With February allowing lovers to fully and freely express themselves, local fast food place was on a mission to pair up some lucky singles through their Valentine’s Day campaign on February 14.

Participants of no more than 30, were all welcomed by television presenter Sbu Shongwe who made the guests feel less anxious about their first encounter with their dates at the newly developed McDonald’s Sandton Gate located in Bryanston.

As time progressed, the lucky singles were all paired up with their partners based on the meals they ordered once entering the facility. From a spicy McFeast to the classic Big Mac, individuals were getting paired up quickly for their intimate date session.

“Five couples had the opportunity in finding love through the campaign, speed dating. It’s all about the chance and a shot at love. Our highly classified match-pairing algorithm had to make sure that the people were compatible in one way or another, I honestly think that everyone had fun, the meals did play a big role. We’re hoping to hear some couples go on a second date after today,” said Shongwe.

One by one, couples were taken to a special room to share some of their highlights and feedback on their speed-date experience.

“My father taught me naturally how men should treat me, but my experience with romance hasn’t been smooth sailing. My date was okay; we gelled well and we’re both open-minded people so it was good to say the least,” said Omega Ncanywa after spending time with her date.
