TransUnion Rising Star Awards at Sandton

The Rising Star Programme, operated by BlackBark Productions, has been established for the purposes of recognising, celebrating and connecting young talented people who have a capacity for achievement and success and who contribute in an inspirational manner to the future of our nation.

Welcoming and thanking everyone for joining and supporting the 12th anniversary of the TransUnion Rising Star Awards on October 24 was Laura Barker, the CEO of BlackBark Productions.

“It is incredible to think that we have been doing this, with the support of SA business and the HR community, for over a decade, and I am blown away when I look at the support and loyalty, we have gained from some of the country’s greatest and brightest.”

Barker highlighted that the stars of 2023 are all winners as they have made it to the recognition dinner, and she wishes all of them the best as they honour them tonight.

Lee Naik, the CEO and regional president of TransUnion Africa, addressing the awards event, said, “I am thrilled to welcome you to the Rising Star Awards. At TransUnion, we are guided by our purpose of providing information for good, which is the extension of what these awards stand for.”

He added that they view the rising stars among their teams as vital to building trust in the modern economy and helping people achieve great things.

“We need leaders who can develop and implement sustainable environmental policies and practices for the public and private sectors and ensure Africa’s voice is heard in global discussions.”

Naik elaborated that they need creative solutions from diversely informed and inspired leaders to achieve these attainable goals.
