Bryanston water complex could do with a lawn shave

Johannesburg City Parks and Zoo was asked about the frequency in which the Bryanston Johannesburg Water Bryanston complex receives grass-trimming maintenance.

The media tour at the Johannesburg Water (JW) Bryanston complex on March 12, revealed how unkempt the lawns of the complex had become.

At the time, JW indicated that maintenance fell under the jurisdiction of Johannesburg City Parks and Zoo. The entity was approached with an enquiry about the lawns on the complex on March 15, to which spokesperson, stakeholder and public relations general manager Jenny Moodley responded on March 18.

The Johannesburg Water Bryanston complex’s grass and shrubs had grown wild.

“In these instances, JW provides City Parks with a bulk order and access to the facility; we then undertake the work and bill the entity accordingly,” Moodley explained. “Johannesburg City Parks and Zoo will reach out to Joburg Water (JW) to undertake the required mowing of the lawns at the facility. On receipt of an instruction from JW, City Parks will immediately prioritise the request.”

Moodley was asked how often lawn maintenance is scheduled to take place at the water complex in Bryanston. Her response was that outside the dormant winter months, the complex’s grass is generally cut every alternate month.

After: The grass cut last week.

JW was contacted on March 22, to enquire whether any bulk order had been placed by them for the maintenance of the Bryanston complex. No feedback was received by the time of going to print on March 25.
