CEO wheels through Kelvin for a great cause

The CEO of a Sandton company joined her peers in taking part in this year’s CEO wheelchair campaign.

Motivated by her longstanding relationship with Little Eden and inspired by the participation of other prominent CEOs took part in the 7th annual Little Eden Society CEO Wheelchair Campaign.

The chief executive officer of the Kelvin-based NFS Group, Nirishi Trikamjee, participated in the seventh annual Little Eden Society CEO Wheelchair campaign. She spent a day in a wheelchair in support of Little Eden.

Trikamjee spent March 13 in a wheelchair. She moved around the office building in a wheelchair, as well as visited the padel courts next to the offices to see how she could move around and attempt to play a game of padel.

“This opportunity with Little Eden Society has added to my awareness and I believe will make me even better at making my way in the world as a conscious leader,” Trikamjee said. “As a CEO, I believe that one’s spirit transcends physical limitations, illuminating the path towards a more compassionate and inclusive world – embrace the journey of understanding, for in asking questions and seeking knowledge, we pave the way for empathy and inclusivity.”

Little Eden is a non-profit organisation providing life-long care to 300 children and adults with profound intellectual disability in two custom-designed residential facilities: Domitilla and Danny Hyams Home in Edenvale, and Elvira Rota Village, in Bapsfontein.

The CEO wheelchair campaign is held in acknowledgement of March as the intellectual-disability awareness month celebrated by Little Eden residents from March 1 – 31.
