At approximately 15:00, on May 29, a resident was followed by three suspects as they left a shopping mall in Bryanston, only to be robbed outside their complex on Rivonia Road.

According to reports, the victim’s watch, phone, wallet, and shopping items were stolen during the attack. Fortunately, SAPS and security personnel responded swiftly to the scene. Investigations are ongoing.

The Sandton Community Policing Forum (CPF) reminds residents to stay alert and vigilant, especially when leaving shopping centres or other public venues. “Be cautious of people or vehicles following you from shopping malls. If you notice suspicious behaviour, trust your instincts and seek safe, well-lit areas, or contact security,” the CPF advised.

Residents are also encouraged to avoid wearing or exposing expensive jewellery or valuables in public whenever possible, to reduce the risk of becoming targets.

Community members are urged to report any suspicious activity to local authorities and to prioritise safety when out in public spaces. The CPF and SAPS continue to work together to enhance security measures throughout Sandton.
