The repairs included filling deep potholes and completing the long-awaited resurfacing, which had previously been left incomplete, causing growing concern among residents and motorists.
Residents, who had earlier voiced their frustration, are now expressing cautious relief.
Thandi Nkosi said: “I’m just glad they finally did it. It’s been a safety risk for months. I really hope they keep up with maintenance this time and don’t let it fall apart again.”
Sandile Nzama, a taxi driver who uses the road day in and day out, said: “The road looks much better now, and I can drive through without dodging potholes. It’s good that JRA came through in the end, but I think residents deserve more proactive service, not just last-minute fixes.”
