Active crime scene on N1 south near Buccleuch interchange

Anyone witnessing suspicious activity is advised to immediately contact the police on 10111 or make use of the panic button feature on the Safer City app.

Sandton CPF has put up an active crime notice about an active incident on the N1 South just before the Buccleuch interchange in Sandton this afternoon.

The situation, reported around 15:30 on has drawn a significant emergency services response, with police and first responders securing the area.

Motorists are being urged to avoid the stretch of highway and make use of alternate routes until the scene is cleared.

Traffic in and around the interchange is expected to remain heavily congested as operations continue.

Residents and commuters in nearby areas, including Waterfall, Sunninghill, and Buccleuch, have been asked to remain vigilant.
