1st Bryanston Scout Group launches Saturday troop to empower local youth

The 1st Bryanston Scout Group has introduced a new Saturday Scout Troop to give more young people a chance to build confidence, skills, and friendships through Scouting.

In a move to broaden youth development opportunities, the 1st Bryanston Scout Group has launched a new Saturday Scout Troop, meeting weekly at the Scout Hall on the corner of West Hertford and Grosvenor roads.

The troop, which held its first meeting on September 27, welcomes young people aged 11 to 18.

According to adult leader Jonathan Pienaar, the group meets every Saturday from 09:30 to 12:00. “With our Friday Troop growing rapidly, we saw the need to expand so that every Scout continues receiving personal attention and quality programming.”

He added that the Saturday sessions have already drawn an enthusiastic mix of new and returning Scouts.

Early activities have included outdoor cooking, pioneering challenges, and team-building games, all focused on building confidence and friendship.
