Hyde Park High celebrates its alumni

Two alumni groups returned to their old school, trading decades of distance for a night of stories, laughter, and the comfort of familiar faces.

A heart-warming success took place recently at the Hyde Park High alumni gathering.

The matric group of 1975 celebrated their 50-Year Alumni Gathering, and the matric group of 1985 celebrated their 40-Year Alumni Gathering.

These two events reflected the fact that they celebrated not only their enduring friendship but also their lifelong connection to Hyde Park High School.

Many travelled from afar, and some even travelled from overseas, ensuring that these two events were a resounding success.

For many, it was the first time in decades that familiar faces were seen again.

Everyone agreed the years seemed to melt away the moment old friends embraced, laughed, and rediscovered the connections that shaped their youth.

The room was filled with stories of school days, life journeys, and cherished memories that have stood the test of time.

These two reunions were truly special for all who attended and were filled with laughter and nostalgia.

Their stories highlighted the lasting impact of their school years at Hyde Park High and the deep sense of belonging that continues even after 40 years and a half a century.

The school’s communications secretary, Avril Wright, said, “Events like these remind us of the strength of our Hyde Park High School community and the importance of preserving these bonds.”
