Montrose Pre-Primary school reflects on a year of growth and joyful learning
New classes, stronger skills and exciting additions to the school grounds marked 2025 as a year of progress and memorable moments at Montrose Pre Primary School.
As 2025 draws to a close, Montrose Pre Primary School is taking a moment to reflect on a year marked by growth, discovery and exciting new beginnings.
“2025 has been a busy and rewarding year for our school. We have seen our learners grow not only academically, but also in confidence, curiosity and independence, said Principal Fiona Niemand.

One of the year’s highlights was the continued development of the Baby Giraffe class.
“Who knew that two-year-olds could be so active and productive at the same time? Watching their excitement as they experience learning through their own eyes has been incredibly special.”
The Busy Bees (Grade 000) and Grade 00 classes showed steady progress throughout the year, producing work of an impressive standard.
Their learning journey was driven by exploration, curiosity and hands-on discovery.
Meanwhile, the Grade R learners began their road to reading, achieving encouraging results and preparing confidently for their transition to Grade One in 2026.
Beyond the classroom, the school environment also grew.
A new grass field gave learners more space to run, play and burn off energy.

Afternoon activities such as cricket, netball, soccer, ballet, gymnastics and drama ensured that learners remained engaged and active after school hours.
Montrose’s commitment to water safety remained a key focus. With the support of Sandton Seals and dedicated coaches, learners continued swimming lessons in the heated pool.
“The laughter and excitement coming from the pool area is a daily reminder of how much joy learning can bring,” Niemand added.
A well-rounded curriculum, supported by loyal and dedicated staff, contributed to a successful year. Community events including the Mother’s Day Mad Hatters Tea, Father’s Day Coffee Morning and a vibrant Art Expo further strengthened school spirit.
Looking ahead, Montrose Pre Primary School is excited to welcome new families in 2026. Admissions are now open, with daily show rounds available.
