Michael Mount Grade 11 learners to take on comedy mystery Clue
From acting to set design, learners work together to stage a lively school production.
Grade 11 learners at Michael Mount Waldorf School are bringing laughter and mystery to the stage with their production of Clue.
The class chose the comedy because they wanted something energetic and fun.
Director Mandy Futter said the learners liked the fast humour and colourful characters in the play.
“The class wanted to challenge themselves and do something physical and funny. Clue gave them the perfect platform to do that,” said Futter.
She added that the production has required many hours of hard work. Rehearsals started in the first week of the school term and continued several afternoons each week.
“It’s been a long process. We have put in about 60 hours of work so far.”

Futter pointed out that the learners are not only acting in the play; they are also responsible for marketing the production, designing the set, and helping with the technical side of the show.
Grade guardian Jacqlyne Titus-Neill said the play is about more than just performing on stage. “At this age, students are learning how their voice fits within a group. This project helps them discover their abilities while working together,” Titus-Neill said.
Unlike many school plays that only involve drama learners, the Grade 11 production includes the entire class. For the learners, the experience is about teamwork, creativity, and learning skills they can use beyond the stage.
