International Junior Miss SA wants to inform, reform and transform

International Junior Miss SA believes in the power of service and her dedication and selfless hours given to her community were acknowledged at the pageant.

International Junior Miss South Africa 2022/2023 is Shanice Radhalal.

The 21-year-old from Gauteng is a model and founder of NPO SERV. Shanice is in her final year of study at the University of the Witwatersrand where she is double majoring in economics and computer science.

Radhalal was selected as South Africa’s new International Junior Miss by an esteemed selection committee comprising previous Miss South Africa’s. Along with the prestigious title, she won an all-inclusive trip to Florida to represent South Africa later this year.

International Junior Miss South Africa allows young women to develop and strengthen self-awareness. The platform empowers young women and affords them the opportunity to advocate for pertinent issues facing South Africa.

“I want to be the starting link in a chain where people find causes relevant to themselves to improve themselves and in doing so inspire succession. I believe that you must help yourself first before you can help others. I want to leave behind a legacy of informing, reforming and finally transforming,” she previously told Sandton Chronicle.

She strongly believes in the power of service. She said it has positively moulded her experiences, her decisions and her essence. Her dedication and selfless hours given to her community were acknowledged at the pageant as she was named the Charity and Debutante winner.

Additionally, she walked away with best interview; best interview dress; best evening dress and best European hair.

Radhalal says she is grateful for the opportunity and looks forwards to her year of reign. She has many initiatives underway, the earliest being for Woman’s Day. She believes beauty pageants play a big role in uplifting and supporting other women.

“When I embarked on this journey I envisioned myself becoming the woman I’ve always wanted to be – stronger, happier, more independent, powerful and intelligent. Through watching my fellow sister queens and previous title holders, I am inspired even more to achieve my goal. That is what Women’s Month is about –- celebrating the women before us, the women amongst us and the women to come,” says Radhalal.
