Back by Popular Demand: Benmore Centre’s Prom Me Up Returns to Make Matric Dreams Come True
For the second year, Benmore Centre’s Prom Me Up sponsored 28 matric learners with full farewell outfits and goodie bags – R144 728 worth of community generosity, turning dresses and suits into confidence, hope and memories that last.

Following the remarkable success of its inaugural campaign, Benmore Centre is delighted to welcome back PROM ME UP for a second year. The initiative, developed in partnership with Fidelitas Comprehensive School, is dedicated to giving matric learners the opportunity to experience the excitement and confidence of their matric farewell, regardless of their circumstances. Once again, our incredible tenants, shoppers, and community partners answered the call, demonstrating the power of a community coming together to create unforgettable moments and lasting impact.

Thanks to the support of Bride & Co, Euro Suits, TEARS Foundation, IV Bar, Bagel Zone and The Sanctuary Thrift Store, sponsorships to the value of R144 728 were secured. Garments were donated to 28 Leaners, together with goodie bags, helping to create a memorable matric farewell experience for the learners.

As Bride & Co shared:
At Bride & Co and Euro Suits, we saw this as an opportunity to make a meaningful difference. In recognition of Nelson Mandela Day, we were proud to support Benmore Centre’s Prom Me Up initiative because we believe every young person deserves the chance to experience the confidence that comes from feeling seen, celebrated and worthy. For many of these learners, putting on a beautiful dress or a well-fitted suit is about so much more than clothing. It’s about seeing themselves with pride, believing in their potential, and realising they are deserving of every opportunity life has to offer. If, through this initiative, we helped even one learner smile a little brighter, then we’ve achieved something truly special. We are incredibly grateful to have partnered with Benmore Centre’s Prom Me Up initiative and to have played a small part in creating memories these young people will carry with them for years to come.
Benmore Centre extends its sincere thanks to every sponsor, partner and volunteer who made Prom Me Up possible. Together, they have provided more than outfits and gifts. They have restored confidence, inspired hope and created lasting memories for South Africa’s future leaders.
