Born in Durban and raised in Johannesburg, Pharoah is driven to make the environment a better place for all with her ideas on sustainability. One of these ideas was to make swimwear using only recycled bottles collected from the ocean, and her plans for the future of the market will include this ideology of sustainability.

Stall owners and staff members of the Bryanston Organic Market look forward to the development of the market with new ideas.

“I am hoping to achieve a more holistic and natural atmosphere in the market. We are all about family and we are all about entertainment and safety,” said Pharoah.

She discussed her plans to boost the profit of the stalls at the market. “What you can expect is the revamping of the kids’ area. We are opening it up to create more space for movement for fun activities. We will be having more craft workshops for both adults and children. We will be stepping away from cash transactions as time progresses.”

Online and marketing coordinator of the market Sarah Mbotshwa shared news of their upcoming festive event.

“We’ll be hosting our annual moonlight market event on October 28 from 17:00 till 21:00. With Halloween being around the corner, we do encourage people to come out dressed in their fantasy outfits. We will award prizes to those with great costumes. If you feel like learning a couple of dance routines, there will be dance instructors and live music to get you on your feet in good spirits. We hope to see you all there,” said Mbotshwa.
