Ward 104 councillor Emi Koekemoer highlights challenges and accomplishments of 2022
Fontainebleau and Malanshof ward councillor embarks on a number of projects to bring service delivery closer.
Ward 104 councillor, Emi Koekemoer writes:
This year has been a rollercoaster.
It was filled with a myriad of challenges from failing infrastructure to political instability and more days with load-shedding than days without.
That said, I am thankful for the small accomplishments in our ward like the re-start of the Joburg Water depot project which has been a white elephant to our ward for years and will undoubtedly improve service delivery on completion, the new streetlights on Grosvenor and some much-needed traffic calming focus from JRA.

We also elected a fully functional ward committee this year and look forward to introducing them to our community early next year.
We have embarked on several projects to bring service delivery closer to residents in realising our smart and efficient city objectives such as virtual billing open days that have been a huge success and the launch of City Power walk-in centres.
Once again I would like to give special thanks to residents of Ward 104 that continue logging issues, residents associations and community groups for their continued support, local security companies and Community Policing Forum for keeping our residents safe and last but not least, entity officials who continue working hard to bring service delivery to our residents despite challenges.
I look forward to another year of getting things done.
Safe travels.
