Local entrepreneurs launch LUMA, a new app that connects users with legal representation
Breaking barriers, local innovators have launch an affordable legal app in Sandton, aiming to help the everyday person connect with a lawyer when legal proceedings are taking place.
For many people, finding legal help can be daunting and often inaccessible, with complicated processes, high fees, and a lack of information about trustworthy professionals.
Recognising these challenges, LUMA, a new digital legal service app, has been launched by two Sandton and Morningside based business people. Making finding a lawyer simpler, quicker, and more affordable.

Developed by local innovators Lihle Nkosi and Zareef Minty, the application is designed to bridge the gap between clients and legal professionals by offering an efficient, digital solution.
With just a few taps on a device, users can now access a network of trusted legal experts who specialise in consultations, contracts, and other essential services, bypassing the traditional, often overwhelming, steps in finding legal assistance.
As co-founder Nkosi explains, “Our mission is to break down barriers to legal assistance, making it accessible for everyone in a secure, digital environment. By launching in the vibrant community of Sandton, we aim to serve residents and professionals looking for reliable legal support.”
The app’s model is straightforward: Clients can access the platform to find legal services on demand, while local lawyers and legal professionals can reach clients in need, helping them expand their reach and streamline client interactions.

This makes the service ideal for individuals who need immediate legal help without the typical hassle of traditional appointments or costly consultation fees.
LUMA’s co-founder Minty, based in Morningside, a lawyer and digital innovation enthusiast, emphasises, “Our team has developed LUMA with the latest security technology to ensure a seamless experience for users. It’s about creating a smarter, more efficient way for residents to engage with legal professionals, right from their phones.”
The app also features a token-based payment system, allowing clients to pay securely for specific services. This setup eliminates the need for complex fee structures, making legal services more approachable for those needing professional help but uncertain where to begin.
With this new approach, Nkosi and Minty hope LUMA will evolve into a vital, adaptable resource that helps users in Sandton and Morningside navigate their legal needs more easily, quickly, and safely than ever before.
