“We are thrilled to see so many young players developing their skills and enjoying the game in such a vibrant, community-driven atmosphere.”

She added that the tournament featured exciting 5-a-side matches, creating a fast-paced, high-energy environment for both players and spectators.

Valkin also highlighted that the inclusive nature of the competition, which saw both boys and girls competing side-by-side, played a key role in fostering a sense of unity among the participants.

“We believe in providing equal opportunities for all players, regardless of gender, and this year’s inclusion of female players in every age group speaks volumes about how far we have come in creating a truly inclusive and supportive soccer environment.”

Valkin said one of the most thrilling moments of the tournament came in the U12 final, where Elite 5s and Warriors Goalseekers battled it out in a dramatic 3–3 draw. “With just minutes remaining, Elite 5s clinched a last-minute victory, marking a fitting conclusion to a hard-fought contest. Both teams, including players from the Southern Johannesburg Primary Schools district, proved the immense talent bubbling up through local youth soccer.”

She elaborated that a total of 13 teams emerged as champions across various age categories, with every player receiving a medal to celebrate their hard work and dedication. “The atmosphere was further enhanced by the presence of soccer legends, including Mama Joy and Bevan Fransman, who mingled with players and fans on the final day, taking photos and offering words of encouragement.”
