AFI’s Fashion Experience Joburg unveils brilliant new designers in Bryanston

The Forum The Campus in Bryanston recently transformed into a vibrant epicentre of African fashion as AFI hosted its much-anticipated Fashion Experience.

On an evening resonating with creativity, inspiration, and empowerment, Africa Fashion International (AFI) brought together a host of talented designers at The Forum The Campus in Bryanston for the AFI Fashion Experience Joburg on March 7.

The event not only celebrated the launch of Loice Dube’s debut collection as the lead designer for AFI Privé but also coincided with the 9th Annual Gender Equality, Wellness, and Leadership (GEWAL) Summit, in honour of International Women’s Day.

Dube, an accomplished designer and the 2023/24 AFI Fastrack Prize winner, made her much-anticipated entrance on the runway, showcasing a stunning collection that captured her unique vision and skill.

Alongside Dube’s collection, the Fashion Experience featured an impressive lineup of talents showcasing their own unique take on contemporary fashion.

Bathini Designs (South Africa), KMoraba & Collective (South Africa), and Alia Baré (Niger) added their flair to the night, while newcomer designers from Senegal, including BAR South Africa, Sucra, and Jeyna A, captured the audience’s attention with their captivating designs.

The event was not just a showcase but a vibrant marketplace, as guests had the opportunity to seamlessly transition from runway to retail at the House of Nala pop-up.

This innovative experience provided immediate access to the showcased collections, allowing attendees to engage with the designs first-hand and take a piece of the evening home with them.
